Founded in the fall of 2016, New York University SEC has sought to challenge the status quo of what a social fraternity on campus should be. Since then, brothers have bought into the idea that each of us may become the man we aspire to be through the support of our fellow members. By practicing our values, the fraternity has stayed true to our Founders’ vision statement, “This fraternity will be different.”
To that effect, NYU SigEp is proud to say that we are different on campus. We do not have a pledging model. We believe that a fraternity shouldn’t require you to prove yourself to get. Rather, SigEp welcomes any man who aligns themselves with our values and buys into the idea that together we can help our brothers become their best selves. As a result, we have built a tight-knit organization that is ever-changing to create the value our members demand.
Currently, the chapter comprises nearly forty men ranging from freshman to seniors across all of NYU’s different schools (Stern, CAS, Steinhardt, Gallatin, etc.). We operate via weekly chapter meetings and provide individualized personal development plans to each member through our Balanced Man Program and app. In line with our commitment to becoming Balanced Men, we will continue to grow and deliver value to our brothers, our chapter, and our community.
